Resumo: | The parameters used in the dental clinic for the diagnosis of periodontitis and its progression, such as pocket depth, level of insertion loss, radiographic images, are not sufficient to detect the early loss of periodontal tissues, the moment when the disease becomes active after periods of stability, as well as different degrees of severity. Biomarkers are substances or metabolites that represent biochemical, physiological, molecular, identified and measured changes in tissues, fluids and compartments, which are related to exposure to an agent and with a response effect to this exposure. Some patients do not respond satisfactorily to periodontal treatment, and can progress to severe and rapidly progressing forms. The biomarkers can be used by the periodontist, allowing the diagnosis to be defined accurately, a control of the patient's response during treatment. |

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-09-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/48410.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n4p1437-1449Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1437-1449Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1437-1449Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1437-14492674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/484/574Copyright (c) 2023 Fabiana de Lima Coutinho, Bernardo Oliveira de Campos, Guilherme Bianchine de Mourahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCoutinho, Fabiana de LimaCampos, Bernardo Oliveira deMoura, Guilherme Bianchine de2023-09-06T08:52:24Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/484Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-09-06T08:52:24Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
