Resumo: Introduction: Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA) is defined as a sudden focal neurological deficit due to a brain injury. The term includes injuries caused by a coagulation and hemodynamic disorder. It has two classifications: ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. Among various treatments, physiotherapy offers technical characteristics and intervention methods that act on the affected areas, one of which is aquatic physiotherapy, also known as hydrotherapy. It is one of the therapeutic methods used to manage motor and physical dysfunctions. Objective: To address the effects of aquatic physiotherapy in the treatment of individuals with stroke. Methodology: The method used was the search for articles published between 2013 and 2023; English and Portuguese; original articles. Obtained from PubMed, VHL and PeDro. Expected Results: Regarding the research quantity, 560 articles on the topic were quantified, using the PubMed, VHL and Virtual Health Library databases. Subsequently, 439 articles were excluded, and these were excluded according to the exclusion parameter adopted in this work. Through the search methods, 21 articles were identified that met the inclusion criteria. Final considerations: studies that addressed aquatic physiotherapy in isolation were fewer and despite obtaining positive results, we believe that more research is necessary, with larger sample numbers and with more specifications about the intervention, to obtain results more accurate.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-11-24info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/95010.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p3763-3777Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3763-3777Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3763-3777Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3763-37772674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/950/1057Copyright (c) 2023 Vitória Guedes Oliveira, Rosileide Alves Livramento https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessOliveira, Vitória GuedesLivramento , Rosileide Alves2023-11-24T17:03:46Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/950Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-11-24T17:03:46Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
