Resumo: Introduction: During prenatal consultations, part of the routine is to ask the pregnant woman to have a companion, preferably her partner. In this way, the father figure will have greater involvement during the gestational period, in addition to answering questions, providing information during the consultation, they are also oriented to immunization, and tests are requested in order to assess their health status. Methodology: The development of the research took place through an integrative literature review, where a synthesis of results found through previously published research was used in order to carry out a discussion of the data obtained. Results: The characterization of the 6 selected articles is presented in Table 1, whose list of articles found, by authorship and year, main objectives and results found in the study. Discussion: The results of the study carried out by Benke and Kruel (2018) supported that men who experienced prenatal care experienced a series of changes and challenges during pregnancy and the first months of the baby's life. Conclusion: Given the above, it is noticeable that changes in the concept of fatherhood throughout history influence the affectionate and participatory role of the father figure throughout the pregnancy-puerperal period.
