NURSING CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE UNDERGOING EXTRACORPOREAL MEMBRANE OXYGENATION THERAPY

Resumo: | ABSTRACT Congenital heart diseases have an incidence of 1 in every 100 live births, the majority already diagnosed in utero, so care planning for the newborn affected by the pathology becomes necessary. Cross-sectional, descriptive, documentary-type research, carried out in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of a large pediatric hospital in the state of Paraná, with the objective of analyzing the indication of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation therapy, its benefits and mainly highlighting the assistance of Nursing care for newborns undergoing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation therapy in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. In view of this research, the main results highlight the importance of providing comprehensive and complex assistance to patients undergoing ECMO, as well as adequate training of nurses and their team to manage this therapy and its peculiarities, with the aim of providing care. specific, aiming at the patient's recovery as a final result. It is therefore concluded that the patient undergoing ECMO is a critical patient who requires individualized assistance, making it crucial to carry out a care plan in sync with the active multidisciplinary team. |

As cardiopatias congênitas possuem uma incidência de 1 a cada 100 nascidos vivos, a maioria já com diagnóstico intra-útero, desse modo torna-se necessário um planejamento de cuidados ao recém-nascido acometido pela patologia. Pesquisa transversal, descritiva do tipo documental, realizada em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Cardíaca de um hospital pediátrico de grande porte no estado do Paraná, com o objetivo de analisar a indicação da terapia de oxigenação por membrana extracorpórea, seus benefícios e principalmente evidenciar a assistência de Enfermagem ao recém-nascido submetido a terapia de oxigenação por membrana extracorpórea em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Cardíaca. Diante da realização desta pesquisa os principais resultados destacam a importância de prestar uma assistência integral e complexa ao paciente submetido à ECMO, bem como à capacitação adequada do enfermeiro e de sua equipe para o manejo desta terapia e suas peculiaridades, com o intuito de prestar cuidados específicos, visando como resultado final à recuperação do paciente.
