Resumo: | Population aging is a global reality, and with it comes significant challenges for public health, requiring innovative and effective approaches. The concept of active aging proposes a more comprehensive and positive view of the aging process, emphasizing the importance of social participation, mental and physical health and quality of life in old age. This study aims to carry out an integrative review of the literature on approaches to active aging and elderly health, in order to identify effective strategies to promote well-being and quality of life at this stage of life. An integrative literature review was carried out, using electronic databases such as PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. Studies that addressed interventions aimed at active aging and elderly health, published in the last ten years, were included. The data was analyzed and synthesized in order to identify patterns and trends in the approaches adopted. The review results indicate a variety of approaches to promote active aging and older adult health. Interventions that combine regular physical activity, balanced diet, social participation and cognitive stimulation have been shown to be effective in promoting general well-being and preventing chronic diseases. Furthermore, health education programs and public policies that encourage age-friendly environments play a crucial role in promoting active aging. Active aging emerges as a promising approach to promoting health and well-being in old age. However, it is essential to adopt a holistic and integrated approach, considering the individual needs and social contexts of older people. Investing in health promotion programs and public policies aimed at active aging can significantly contribute to increasing quality of life and reducing the burden of chronic diseases in the elderly population. |

Specialized Dentistry Group2024-04-13info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/192610.36557/2674-8169.2024v6n4p1320-1330Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 No. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - IMPACT FACTOR SJIF 5.807; 1320-1330Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 Núm. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807; 1320-1330Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 6 n. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807; 1320-13302674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1926/2133Copyright (c) 2024 Carla Costa Puglia , Luíza Genro Coutinho , Fátima Valladares Bloch , Letícia Sgarbossa , Moisés Neves Silva , Hiara Cássia Fernandes Pontes , Victoria Melo Costa , Anannda Evellyn de Souza Gonçalves , Felipe Barbosa Botelho Rolim , Zenóbia Dantas Rêgo Neta https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPuglia , Carla Costa Coutinho , Luíza GenroBloch , Fátima Valladares Sgarbossa , LetíciaSilva , Moisés NevesPontes , Hiara Cássia FernandesCosta , Victoria MeloGonçalves , Anannda Evellyn de SouzaRolim , Felipe Barbosa BotelhoNeta , Zenóbia Dantas Rêgo2024-04-13T15:51:23Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1926Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2024-04-13T15:51:23Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
