Redução de efeitos cardiovasculares com o uso de antidepressivos: uma revisão da literatura.

In recent years, several studies on cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have drawn attention in the medical field because they are diseases of important incidence worldwide. Considered a major public health problem, CVDs have driven the development of studies that sought to elucidate the effects that certain imbalances in mental health could cause in the human heart. The theme of this project addressed the use of some antidepressants in the context of reducing cardiovascular outcomes, demonstrating the effects of drug treatment of psychiatric disorders on the cardiovascular system. At the end of the study, the importance of the correct choice of antidepressant class for each patient profile was highlighted. Tricyclics were mostly harmful, especially in patients with pre-existing heart disease. On the other hand, the class of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and most drugs in the class of serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) were safer in terms of preventing cardiovascular outcomes.
