Resumo: | Introduction: The Pelvic Floor (PA) begins in the upper part of the pelvis and descends to its lower opening, closing the pelvis inferiorly in a funnel shape. Made up of muscles, fascia and ligaments, its functions are: support of the internal viscera, control of the function of the sphincter of the urethra, vagina and rectum and fetal passage during childbirth. When there is an exacerbated decrease in the tension of the muscle fibers and fibrous tissue that make up the AP, it can result in the pathological loss of the genital organs, causing pelvic organ prolapse (POP). POP treatment varies according to the degree and physiotherapy can bring numerous benefits to patients, reducing its incidence, eliminating symptoms and improving quality of life. Objective: To analyze the treatment techniques of pelvic physiotherapy in the treatment of genital prolapse in women. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review research. Results: Thee studies examined in this review demonstrated the effectiveness of conservative physical therapy treatment for pelvic organ prolapse. The results included symptom relief, increased strength and support elements of the pelvic organs, better activation of myofibrils and, as a result, an improvement in the patients' quality of life, sexual function and body image. |

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-11-19info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/90910.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p3402-3414Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3402-3414Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3402-3414Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 3402-34142674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/909/1022Copyright (c) 2023 Nausha Caroline Souza da Silva , Rosileide Alves Livramento https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSilva , Nausha Caroline Souza daLivramento , Rosileide Alves2023-11-19T21:29:47Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/909Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-11-19T21:29:47Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
