Resumo: In this study, various therapeutic strategies are examined for the treatment of Tourette Syndrome, with an emphasis on pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. Initially, we highlight the effectiveness of recent pharmacological interventions developed, emphasizing their ability to control symptoms of the disease and improve patients' quality of life. These emerging therapies are not limited to symptom relief but also aim to address the underlying causes of the condition, considering the complex interaction between neurobiological and environmental factors. In addition to pharmacological interventions, innovative non-pharmacological approaches are being explored, such as behavioral therapies and lifestyle modulation. These strategies include cognitive-behavioral therapies, social skills training, and relaxation techniques, which have been shown to be effective in reducing tics and managing stress. Ongoing research in this field is crucial to identify the most effective approaches and adapt them to individual patient needs. Furthermore, it is important to highlight the role of specific medications in the treatment of Tourette Syndrome, including antipsychotics, dopaminergic agonists, and adjuvant agents. These medications aim to control motor and vocal tics as well as the behavioral symptoms associated with the condition, providing relief to patients affected by the Syndrome. In summary, the approach to treatment is increasingly focused on the combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. The integration of these therapeutic strategies can offer a more comprehensive and personalized approach to managing the condition, significantly improving the quality of life of patients. However, further research is needed to fully understand the underlying mechanisms and optimize the use of these therapeutic interventions in clinical practice.

However, further research is needed to fully understand the underlying mechanisms and optimize the use of these therapeutic interventions in clinical practice. Specialized Dentistry Group2024-03-12info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/165210.36557/2674-8169.2024v6n3p997-1010Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 No. 3 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 997-1010Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 Núm. 3 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 997-1010Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 6 n. 3 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 997-10102674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1652/1844Copyright (c) 2024 Ana Laura Zanett Alvarenga, Caio Aloísio de Oliveira Cardoso , Caio Cesar Queiroz Nogueira, Arthur Henrique dos Santos Vieira, Stefânia Ungaro Lanfredihttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessZanett Alvarenga, Ana Laura Aloísio de Oliveira Cardoso , CaioQueiroz Nogueira, Caio Cesardos Santos Vieira, Arthur HenriqueUngaro Lanfredi, Stefânia2024-03-12T19:41:44Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1652Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2024-03-12T19:41:44Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
