Resumo: | The general objective of this study was to analyze the possible neurobiological impacts of cesarean section on the development of Autism Spectrum Disorder (TEA). Specific objectives: address the definition and classification of this disorder; investigate the proposed neurobiological mechanisms that may explain the relationship between cesarean section birth and the risk of TEAs. This research is relevant due to the importance of understanding the factors that can contribute to the development of TEA, a complex and multifactorial condition. Analysis of the possible neurobiological impacts of cesarean birth in this context can provide valuable information for prevention and 1 early intervention in TEA, as well as highlighting the need for more personalized approaches to obstetric care to promote children's neurological health and well-being. It consisted of a literature review as a research method. The study was carried out through an online search with a bibliographic survey of scientific reproductions, from 2017 to 2023, available in articles in Scielo, Lilacs, Medline. The following descriptors were used in the search: cesarean section; neurobiological aspects; autism spectrum disorder. After a careful analysis of the available studies, it is possible to conclude that the relationship between cesarean section and TEA, is complex and still requires definitive clarification. Although some studies suggest an association between cesarean section and a higher risk of TEA, others do not consistently find this link, highlighting the need for more longitudinal research and controlled studies to validate these findings. |

Specialized Dentistry Group2024-04-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/181910.36557/2674-8169.2024v6n4p57-68Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 No. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - IMPACT FACTOR SJIF 5.807; 57-68Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 Núm. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807; 57-68Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 6 n. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807; 57-682674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1819/2023Copyright (c) 2024 Mariana Benicio Jarussihttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess Jarussi, Mariana Benicio2024-04-09T11:05:05Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1819Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2024-04-09T11:05:05Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
