To explore the physiological and emotional consequences experienced by women during menopause. Methodology: An integrative analysis of articles on the VHL platform was carried out, considering publications between the years 2018 and 2022. Results: 16 studies were identified that met the established criteria. The research addressed issues such as anxiety, sleep disorders, changes in libido, fatigue, hot flashes and problems with the cardiac system, often related to high blood pressure and other conditions such as obesity. Furthermore, the lack of preparation of health teams to deal with climacteric women was highlighted, as well as low adherence to hormonal treatment. Women's limited knowledge about this stage of life was also highlighted. Conclusion: It is essential that the climacteric period is recognized as a significant period in women's lives, going beyond clinical symptoms, in order to help women age in an active and healthy way.
