Resumo: The employability and professional development of autistic individuals has been the focus of increasing attention due to the search for a more inclusive society. This study analyzes the challenges faced by autistic people in the workplace and highlights opportunities that can be explored to promote more effective participation. Challenges include stigmas and lack of understanding, while opportunities include the unique potential of skills such as attention to detail and analytical thinking. Adaptation strategies in the workplace, training and awareness programs are identified as key elements to maximize the employability and professional development of these individuals. This study contributes to the discussion about inclusion in the job market, emphasizing the importance of considering and valuing the diversity of talents that autistic professionals can offer. The employability and professional development of autistic individuals are topics of great relevance, as they address both the challenges and opportunities that these people face in the job market. Awareness about diversity and inclusion in the professional environment has grown, but there are still significant barriers to be overcome. Among the most common challenges, the persistence of stereotypes and prejudices towards autistic people stands out. These misperceptions often result in discrimination and a lack of opportunities for these professionals. Furthermore, difficulties with communication and social interaction, common characteristics on the autism spectrum, can be misinterpreted in the traditional work environment. The lack of understanding on the part of colleagues and managers about the skills and potential of autistic professionals also contributes to exclusion in the job market.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-12-07info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/102710.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p4800-4812Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 4800-4812Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 4800-4812Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 4800-48122674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1027/1164Copyright (c) 2023 Renan Italo Rodrigues Dias, Alessandra Couto Vieira, Rejane Dutra Bergamaschi, Arceloni Neusa Volpato, Lucas Albino Pereira, Cleber Aparecido Medeiros da Silva, Helder Eduardo de Sousa Esteves, João André Chaves Melo, Lucca Vian Costa, Ametista de Oliveira Queiroz, Sílvia Ciriaco Feitosa Teixeira, Simone Ciriaco Feitosa Stancohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess Dias, Renan Italo RodriguesVieira, Alessandra CoutoBergamaschi, Rejane DutraVolpato, Arceloni Neusa Pereira, Lucas AlbinoSilva, Cleber Aparecido Medeiros daEsteves, Helder Eduardo de SousaMelo, João André ChavesCosta, Lucca VianQueiroz, Ametista de OliveiraTeixeira, Sílvia Ciriaco Feitosa Stanco, Simone Ciriaco Feitosa2023-12-07T20:02:55Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1027Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-12-07T20:02:55Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
