Resumo: The disorder accumulation, hoarding or Noah's Syndrome disorder is a multifactorial and interdisciplinary problem in Public Health and concerns the accumulation of animals, where the affected individual is unable to customize them and does not perceive the behavioral risks for their own your family, neighbors and animals. Thus, there is a need to know the profile of these accumulators, as well as how they house, feed and promote veterinary care for these animals, also verifying their knowledge of zoonoses and the animal's relationship with the environment. Thus, the present work aimed to draw of profile of animal accumulators in the city of São Luís - MA, through the application of a questionnaire on the population's knowledge about zoonoses, abuse, environmental risks, notions about food management and veterinary medical care for animals and socioeconomic profile of people who the accumulation of animals disorder. It is concluded that the level of education (people without higher education) is correlated with the number of animals accumulated (above 20) (P <0.001). The level of education does not influence people's knowledge about zoonoses (P = 0.3292). However, the higher-level variable influenced the habits of taking the animals to the veterinarian (P = 0.002), as well as their immunization (P = 0.0009). Multiprofessional work is needed to improve the quality of life of humans and animals.

Multiprofessional work is needed to improve the quality of life of humans and animals.O transtorno de acumulação, hoarding ou Síndrome de Noé é um problema multifatorial e interdisciplinar de Saúde Pública e diz respeito ao acúmulo de animais, onde o indivíduo acometido torna-se incapaz de mantê-los adequadamente e não percebe os riscos desse comportamento para a própria saúde, a da sua família, a de vizinhos e a dos animais. Assim surge a necessidade de conhecer o perfil destes acumuladores, assim como de que maneira eles domiciliam, alimentam e promove cuidados veterinários a esses animais, também sendo verificado o conhecimento dos mesmos para com as zoonoses e a relação do animal com o ambiente. Desta forma o presente trabalho teve por objetivo, traçar um perfil dos acumuladores de animais da cidade de São Luís – MA, através da aplicação de um questionário sobre o conhecimento da população acerca das zoonoses, maus tratos, riscos ambientais, noções sobre manejo alimentar e assistência médico veterinária aos animais e perfil socioeconômico das pessoas que sofrem de transtorno de acumulação de animais. Conclui-se que o nível de escolaridade (pessoas sem o nível superior) apresentou correlação significativa com a quantidade de animais acumulados (acima de 20) (P<0,001). O nível de escolaridade não influenciou o conhecimento das pessoas em relação as zoonoses (P=0,3292). Porém, a variável nível superior influenciou significativamente nos hábitos de levar os animais ao veterinário (P=0,002), bem como na imunização dos mesmos (P=0,0009).
