Adaptation of PET-Health during the pandemic and online activities: an experience report

Resumo: Academic interdisciplinarity is an important factor for developing interprofessional practices, an essential feature for providing effective comprehensive care to Unified Health System (SUS) users. The Education through Work for Health Program (PET-Saúde), created by the Ministry of Health, seeks to promote health professional training by integration of the teaching-service-community axis, guided by interprofessional interaction in Basic Health Units. Health (UBS). In the program, professionals must work in a interprofessional team, focusing on real problem situations. This paper reports the development of new strategies for maintaining the program’s teaching and health activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. To do so, in-person activities were replaced by virtual ones, using Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on online platforms. Qualification courses, regional and national forums were held to discuss the gaps and instabilities in the SUS and the program, as well as to produce folders, booklets and videos aimed at population health education. PET-Saúde showed positive results during the pandemic regarding the interprofessional approach, generation of theoretical framework, and creation of community-based health education activities. However, doubts remain as to the material’s ability to reach all its target population, since intervention from UBS professionals was needed to carry out online actions, generating uncertainty for individuals without Internet access.

El Programa Educación por el Trabajo para la Salud (PET-Saúde), creado por el Ministerio de Salud, tiene como objetivo fomentar la formación de los profesionales de la salud a través de la integración del eje enseñanza-servicio-comunidad, guiado por la implementación de la interprofesionalidad en Unidades Básicas de Salud (UBS). En el programa, los profesionales deben trabajar en equipo, desde una perspectiva interprofesional y con foco en situaciones problemáticas reales. En este artículo se pretende reportar el desarrollo de nuevas estrategias para el mantenimiento de las actividades docentes y de salud del programa, debido a la pandemia del nuevo coronavirus. Por tal motivo, hubo la sustitución de las actividades presenciales por el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) en plataformas en línea. Se realizó cursos de capacitación, foros regionales y nacionales para discutir las brechas e inestabilidades del SUS y el programa, además de ​​la producción de carpetas, folletos y vídeos orientados a la educación en salud de la población de acuerdo a cada realidad. La experiencia del PET-Saúde durante el contexto pandémico fue favorable en cuanto al enfoque interprofesional, la generación de marco teórico y la creación de actividades de educación en salud para la comunidad. Sin embargo, existe una incertidumbre en cuanto al alcance del material en la población objetivo, ya que fue necesario cruzar los datos de los profesionales de UBS para realizar acciones en línea, lo que no generó certeza del alcance en individuos de la comunidad sin acceso al entorno virtual.A interdisciplinaridade acadêmica é um dos fatores que proporcionam o desenvolvimento de práticas interprofissionais, que são essenciais para efetividade do atendimento integral ao usuário do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). O Programa de Educação Pelo Trabalho Para a Saúde (PET-Saúde), instituído pelo Ministério da Saúde, visa fomentar a formação de profissionais da área por meio da integração do eixo ensino-serviço-comunidade, norteados pelo interprofissionalismo nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS). No programa, os profissionais devem trabalhar em equipe, sob ótica interprofissional e com foco em situações-problema reais. Neste artigo, buscou-se relatar o desenvolvimento de novas estratégias para a manutenção das atividades de ensino e saúde do programa, devido à pandemia do novo coronavírus. Para isso, ocorreu a substituição das atividades presenciais pelo uso de Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC) em plataformas online. Foram realizados cursos de qualificação, fóruns regionais e nacionais para discussão das lacunas e instabilidades do SUS e do programa, além da produção de folders, cartilhas e vídeos voltados para educação em saúde da população de acordo com cada realidade. A experiência do PET-Saúde durante o contexto pandêmico teve resultados positivos no que se refere à aproximação interprofissional, geração de arcabouço teórico e criação de atividades de educação em saúde para a comunidade.
