Health courses: integration and social responsibility in addressing the pandemic

Resumo: | The COVID-19 pandemic affected undergraduate health courses, which faced dilemma on how to reconcile the social responsibility of participating in the health care of the population in the municipality and in the state with the bio-safety demands imposed by the pandemic. At Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), there are 14 courses in the health field that share the same space, the same resources and the same academic policies. Thinking together about the experienced challenges was a movement of solidarity, integration and cohesion. The purpose of this article is to report this experience. The context before the pandemic, the performance before ministerial ordinances, the development of guidelines for emergency remote education and the situation of curricular internships are described. It highlights the importance of collective construction in facing the difficulties to guarantee safety, equity and quality in the training of health professionals at UFMG. |

En la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) hay 14 carreras en el campo de la Salud que comparten el mismo espacio, los mismos recursos y las mismas políticas académicas. Pensar juntos en los desafíos vividos es un movimiento de solidaridad, integración y cohesión. El propósito de este artículo es reportar esta experiencia. Se describe el contexto previo a la pandemia, el desempeño ante ordenanzas ministeriales, el desarrollo de lineamientos para la educación remota de emergencia y la situación de las pasantías. Se espera registrar la importancia de una acción solidaria ante las dificultades para garantizar la seguridad, equidad y calidad en la formación de los profesionales de la salud en la UFMG.A pandemia da COVID-19 afetou os cursos de graduação da área da Saúde, que se viram diante de um dilema sobre como conciliar a responsabilidade social de participar da atenção à saúde da população no município e no estado com as demandas de biossegurança impostas pela pandemia. Na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), há 14 cursos da área da Saúde que compartilham do mesmo espaço, dos mesmos recursos e das mesmas políticas acadêmicas. Pensar juntos sobre os desafios vivenciados foi um movimento de solidariedade, integração e coesão. O objetivo deste artigo é relatar essa experiência. São descritos o contexto antes da pandemia, a atuação diante de portarias ministeriais, a elaboração de diretrizes para o ensino remoto emergencial e a situação dos estágios curriculares.
