Resumo: The income of Brazilian football clubs comes mainly from television rights. Such context can interfere in the chances of a team to obtain a good classification in the championships. Thus, the objective of this study was to verify if, among the clubs that played in the Brazilian Men's Football Championship of the Series A, in the 2021 season, there is a correlation between the revenue, from television rights, and the final classification in the championship. A description of the clubs' television rights revenues and the final classification in the Brazilian championship in question was made. A Wilk shapiro test was performed, and it was found that the clubs' income does not have a normal distribution (p=0.014). A Spearman test was performed to verify if there is a correlation between the study variables. A significance level of 95% was adopted. The SPSS statistical program, version 22, was used for the analyses. From the results, there is a positive relationship between the value of income from TV rights and the final placement in the Brazilian championship of the year 2021. The findings help in the discussion of the need for greater equity in the distribution of revenues. Since the distribution of TV revenues has shown to be correlated with the performance of the teams and, consequently, a more balanced and attractive Brazilian football championship, until the final round is related to a more balanced distribution of this type of revenue.
