Modified operator analysis on convection-diffusion problems

Resumo: An exponential function defined along the stremlines is used to modify the linear convection-diffusion differential operator. As the modified operator is self-adjoint the Galerkin method is suited for the finite-element discretization. Apllications of the modified operator concept to one and two-dimensional steady-state problems are presented and analysed.
