Approaches between legal education and integrated secundary education: a proposal for a citizen and ethics education

Resumo: | This articleaims to reach the objective of presenting theoretical discussion about possible approximations between legal education and integrated secondary education with a view to providing a citizen and ethical training to adolescents and young people at this stageof education. As a methodology, a review of the literature on the historical duality of professional education in Brazil, integrated secondary education, and citizen and ethical education through legal education had been carried out. The study shows that professional education in Brazil, since its inception, has the characteristics of enabling the poorest to work, and despite the existence of several legislation aimed at putting an end to the educational duality, it has been maintained especially in the curricula. In addition, it should be pointed out that integrated secondary education based on work, science and culture, with a view to an all-round training of subjects, is an important alternative for overcoming this duality and legal education at this stage can to allow students to appropriate a culture of norms that regulate social life, which would strengthen otherness and contribute to its development in an emancipated and critical way. It is therefore concluded that the approximation between legal education and integrated secondary education would allow young people to know the organization and structure of the State in which they live and the rights and duties that are inalienable to them, which constitutes an important instrument for the exercise of an active citizenship and improvement of ethical action, contributing to the construction of an emancipatory professional education. |

Para tanto, como metodologia, fora realizada uma revisão de literatura acerca da dualidade histórica da educação profissional no Brasil, do ensino médio integrado e da formação cidadã e ética por meio da educação jurídica. O estudo evidencia como resultado que a educação profissional no Brasil, desde sua criação, apresenta característica de capacitar para o trabalho os mais pobres e, inobstante a existência de diversas legislações posteriores visando pôr fim à dualidade educacional, esta fora mantida, especialmente nos currículos. Ademais, destaca-se que o ensino médio integrado pautado no eixo trabalho, ciência e cultura, com vistas a uma formação omnilateral dos sujeitos, configura-se como importante alternativa para a superação dessa dualidade e a educação jurídica, nesta etapa, pode vir a permitir aos estudantes a apropriação de uma cultura das normas que regulam a vida social, o que fortaleceria a alteridade e contribuiria para seu desenvolvimento de maneira emancipada e crítica.
