“Curious Reactions”: Production and application of didact Kits for Science teaching

Resumo: This paper presents the course of construction, validation and application of a Teaching Kit for Science Teaching, as a proposal of an educational product developed during the didactic resources offered by the professional Master in Science and Mathematics Education (Educimat), offered by Federal Institute of Education, of Espírito Santo (Ifes) Brazil.The product was validated by specialists and then applied to a group of second year high school students in a school of the state of Espírito Santo, in order to ascertain the previous knowledge regarding the content of chemical reactions, in addition to making possible the evaluation of the Kit's potential as a playful and interesting pedagogical material within the context of a chemistry class. Through a questionnaire applied in two moments, before and after the use of the Didactic Kit, the importance of a practice contrary to a simplistic model of education was evident, since the use of the Kit, built with simple materials and of low cost, materializes a science teaching that makes possible the understanding of the existing relations between Science and the daily life of the student, breaking with practices of a traditionally fragmented teaching. Using different spaces for learning with innovative resources is a means ofraising the quality of learnings built meaningfully.

O produto foi validado por especialistas e, em seguida, foi aplicado a um grupo de alunos do segundo ano do Ensino Médio em uma escola da rede estadual do Espírito Santo, com o objetivo de averiguar os conhecimentos prévios em relação ao conteúdo de reações químicas, além de possibilitar a avaliação do potencial do Kit como um material pedagógico lúdico e interessante dentro do contexto de uma aula de química. Por meio de questionário aplicado em dois momentos, antes e depois da utilização do Kit Didático, ficou evidente a importância de uma prática contrária a um modelo simplista de educação, pois a utilização do Kit, construído com materiais simples e de baixo custo, materializa um ensino de ciências que possibilite a compreensão das relações existentes entre a Ciência e o cotidiano do aluno, rompendo com práticas de um ensino tradicionalmente fragmentado.
