Resumo: Scorpionism is a serious public health problem in Brazil and in the world in recent years. They are recognized as scorpions of importance in Bahia those belonging to the genus Tityus, in particular two species: Tityus serrulatus, and Tityus bahiensis, being the first responsible for the most serious. Epidemiological studies and socio-environmental vulnerability indices have been used in order to assess urban socio-environmental contexts and threats to health, aiming to better understand the health-disease relationship. Objective: The study has with the objective to present an epidemiological analysis and to relate it with associated with the severity of scorpionism, as well as proposing and testing an Socioenvironmental Vulnerability (IVSA) to scorpion accidents. Method: It was a descriptive ecological epidemiological study was carried out, as well as calculation of the incidence, lethality and odds ratio for factors associated with severity, georeferencing and spatial analysis, using data from the 2010 IBGE Demographic Census of scorpion accidents reported in the Information System of Diseases of Notification, from 2010 to 2017 in the Extreme South of Bahia. used for data tabulation and analysis the software TabWin32 3.6b, Microsoft Excel 2010, the Excel calculator for sample sizes and statistics and QGIS software version 2.18 in making the maps Result: The highest incidences of scorpion accidents occurred in 2014 and 2017 and in the municipalities of Lajedão and Medeiros Neto. During this period, there were 10 deaths. Higher concentration of accidents in rural areas (except if Teixeira de Freitas, the most urbanized city in the region in men (70.1%), age group 20 49 years (51%), literate (51.5%), blacks (84%) and with low employment relationship (22.6%). The most affected body region was the hand (61.9%) 61.9%), with a predominance of mild cases (82.8%), local symptoms (92.1%). the serious frames affect three times more people under 15 years of age (p< Analyzing whether the occurrences of urban scorpionism in the city of Teixeira de Freitas, where it was When a socio-environmental vulnerability index was applied, it became clear that the vulnerability to accidents is linked to low socioeconomic status; and how much the more vulnerable the population, the greater the frequency of scorpion accidents. Conclusion: there was an increase in scorpionism and a predominance of cases in rural areas, children and males. It constitutes a serious health problem. public service in the extreme south region of Bahia. They are related to the low conditions socioeconomic conditions, both in the urban and rural environment, giving rise to training actions and surveillance to reduce the epidemic. IVSA can be a useful, versatile and low-cost tool for planning the most effective public policy strategiesFAPESBO escorpionismo constitui se um sério problema de saúde pública no Brasil e no mundo nos últimos anos.
