Physical-chemical and technological quality of an experimental hybrid of cabotia pumpkin

Resumo: The objective of this study was to compare the characteristics of the cabotia experimental hybrid (HC05) with commercial Tetsukabuto F1 (TET). The genotypes were divided according to their mass (kg), and were evaluated for quality properties. The color parameters evaluated did not present a significant difference, although the hybrid presented visual difference from the commercial variety. It can be concluded that the fruit mass did not influence the concentration of the compounds, but an inferiority of HC05 was observed with respect to the relevant quality characteristics in pumpkins, such as soluble solids content, carotenoids and vitamin C.

Los genotipos se dividieron según la masa (kg) y se evaluó su calidad. Los parámetros de color evaluados no mostraron diferencias significativas, aunque visualmente el híbrido era diferente de la variedad comercial. Se concluyó que el tamaño de la fruta no influye en la concentración de los compuestos, y también, se observó una inferioridad de HC05 en relación con las características de calidad relevantes en las calabazas, como el contenido de sólidos solubles, carotenoides y vitamina C.  O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar e comparar as características físico-químicas de um híbrido de cabotiá experimental com o híbrido comercial Tetsukabuto. Os genótipos foram divididos de acordo com a massa (kg), e foram avaliados quanto a qualidade. Os parâmetros de cor avaliados não apresentaram diferença significativa, embora visualmente o híbrido mostrou-se diferente da variedade comercial.
