The school as heterotopy: acceptance and coexistence between ballet dancers and non-ballet dancers in a public school in Santa Catarina, Brazil

Resumo: How to conceive a school as a space of acceptance and coexistence between subjects who act in such different ways? Where do many no longer fit within the pre-established (hetero) norm that judges, sentences and punishes behavior outside of male / female binarism? The idea of a non-heteronormative school fits within the concept of heterotopy, a place or space that operates in non-hegemonic conditions. It is intended to describe situations in which students who have different forms of subjectivity assume a posture of acceptance and conviviality of their differences. A study is proposed using post-structuralist and Queer Theory assumptions, aiming to demonstrate how students (dancers) and non-dancers live in a non-heteronormative way. It was analyzed through ethnography how the students positioned themselves in relation to issues of heteronormative differences and the interactions between dancers and non-dancers students at different times and spaces in the school were described. The analyzed school can be considered a heterotopy, where most students accept each other and live together in order to respect their subjectivities.

La idea de una escuela no heteronormativa encaja dentro del concepto de heteropía, un lugar o espacio que opera en condiciones no hegemónicas. Se pretende describir situaciones en las que los estudiantes que presentan diferentes formas de subjetividad asumen una postura de aceptación y convivencia de sus diferencias. Se propone un estudio utilizando supuestos posestructuralistas y de la Teoría Queer, con el objetivo de demostrar cómo los estudiantes (bailarines) y no bailarines viven de una manera no heteronormativa. Se analizó a través de la etnografía cómo se posicionaron los estudiantes en relación a temas de diferencias heteronormativas y se describieron las interacciones entre estudiantes bailarines y no bailarines en diferentes momentos y espacios de la escuela. La escuela analizada se puede considerar una heteropía, donde la gran mayoría de estudiantes se aceptan y conviven para respetar sus subjetividades.Como conceber uma escola como um espaço de aceitação e convivência entre sujeitos que atuam de formas tão diferentes? Onde muitos não mais se encaixam dentro da (hetero)norma preestabelecida que julga, sentencia e pune comportamentos fora do binarismo macho/fêmea? A ideia de escola não heteronormativa se encaixa dentro do conceito de heterotopia, um lugar ou espaço que opera em condições não hegemônicas. Pretende-se descrever situações em que alunos(as) que apresentam diferentes formas de subjetivação assumem uma postura de aceitação e convívio de suas diferenças. Propõe-se um estudo utilizando pressupostos pós-estruturalistas e da Teoria Queer, objetivando demonstrar como alunos(as) bailarinos(as) e não bailarinos(as) convivem de uma forma não heteronormativa. Analisou-se por meio de etnografia como os discentes se posicionaram em relação a questões de diferenças heteronormativas e descreveram-se as interações entre os alunos bailarinos e os não bailarinos em diferentes tempos e espaços na escola.
