Situations proposed in the Math textbook for Secondary School Integrated with Vocational Education: Context and Applications

Resumo: | The aim of this paper is to present results of the analysis of the situations proposed in the textbook used in a High School Course Integrated with Vocational Education. Analysis of the book was based on documentary research and literature review of contextualization and Onto-semiotic Approach of Knowledge and Mathematics Education. Regarding context, the study investigated situations presented in the introduction of the contents as well as in the activities. It was found that, in the introduction tasks. context of reality prevails; whereas the Mathematics context prevails in the activities. These data demonstrate the expressiveness of the algorithmic calculations activities that contribute to the learning techniques and properties, but not for the development of the critical thinking. Thus, it is considered that the authors could have distributed the activities more evenly. It is worth noting that the activities also do not address the reality of the technical area. |

It is worth noting that the activities also do not address the reality of the technical area.O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar o resultado da análise das situações matemáticas que são propostas no livro didático utilizado em um curso de Ensino Médio Integrado à Educação Profissional. A análise do livro baseou-se em pesquisa documental e requereu uma revisão bibliográfica sobre contextualização e Enfoque Ontossemiótico do Conhecimento e Educação Matemática. Em relação ao contexto, foram investigadas as situações apresentadas na introdução dos conteúdos e nas atividades propostas. No que se refere aos conhecimentos prévios e emergentes, foram analisadas somente as atividades propostas. Verificou-se que, nas atividades de introdução, prevalece o contexto da realidade; e nas propostas, o da própria Matemática. Esses dados mostram a expressividade de atividades de cálculos algorítmicos, que contribuem para a aprendizagem de técnicas e propriedades, mas não para o desenvolvimento do pensamento crítico do aluno. Assim, considera-se que os autores poderiam ter distribuído as atividades de maneira mais uniforme.
