Resumo: | This study aimed to estimate the loss of soil by water erosion that occurs in a stretch of rural road Alegre municipality, ES, Brazil. The estimate was based on the accumulated volume of earth per four structures such as " retention basins " of semicircular shape, arranged in series ( 7 of 7 m) and installed on the roadside. The results indicate that rural road has advanced erosion process. The land volumes of 0,0310 m³, 0,0122 m³, 0,0068 m³ and 0,0065 m³, retained on structures after six months of observation, reinforce the need for conservation practices on site. |

A estimativa foi realizada com base no volume de terra acumulado por quatro estruturas do tipo “bacias de retenção” de formato semicircular, dispostas em série (7 em 7 m) e instaladas à margem da estrada. Os resultados indicam que a estrada rural apresenta processo de erosão avançada. Os volumes de terra de 0,0310 m³, 0,0122 m³, 0,0068 m³ e 0,0065 m³, retidos nas estruturas ao final de seis meses de observação, reforçam a necessidade de práticas conservacionistas no local.
