LATO SENSU POST-GRADUATION IN SCIENCE TEACHING IN BRAZIL: AN ASCERTAINMENT OF COURSES AND PLACES THROUGH THE E-MEC PORTAL

Resumo: This study is a basic research of the ascertainment type. It is characterized as qualitative-quantitative, since the objective is to ascertain numeric data about the quantity of places and the offering o Lato Sensu post-graduation courses in Science Teaching in Brazil and with the results thereof analyzed and interpreted. The ascertainment was carried out through the use of the MEC portal (e-MEC) electronic proceedings that contains information about the graduation and specialization courses whose responsibility for all the information are held by the holding institutions. The results show that the distribution of courses and places is greater for the South and Southeast regions, while the North region has no courses registered at the portal mentioned, which brings to evidence there is an unequal offering of courses and shows that the country must invest further in continued teacher training.

Caracteriza-se como quali-quantitativa, pois objetivou levantar dados numéricos acerca do número de vagas e da oferta de cursos de pós-graduação Lato Sensu em Ensino de Ciências no Brasil e seus resultados são analisados e interpretados. O levantamento foi realizado utilizando-se da planilha de tramitação eletrônica no portal do MEC (e-MEC) onde constam informações de cursos de graduação e especialização cuja responsabilidade das informações são das instituições mantenedoras.
