Today's environmental problems are harming nature and human life quality, putting the future of humanity at risk. This reality shows the importance of public policies to ensure that environmental education is present in schools. Therefore, this work aims to describe environmental education practices in chemistry teaching in basic education schools, through a bibliographic review. Firstly, a search was conducted for academic articles on the theme "environmental education in chemistry teaching", with the period of analysis defined as 2000 to 2022. Subsequently, a search was carried out for Brazilian legislation documents related to environmental education. After reading the abstracts, 11 articles were chosen for textual analysis. The importance of including environmental education in chemistry teaching was observed as an instrument to work on environmental preservation and reduce the consequences of human actions on the environment through practices contextualized in the classroom, highlighting the school institution as a suitable space for the integral training of the individual from the perspectives of environmental education.

Resumo: | Today's environmental problems are harming nature and man's quality of life, putting the future of humanity at risk. This reality shows the importance of public policies to ensure that environmental education is present in schools. And therefore, this work aims to evaluate the practices of environmental education in the teaching of chemistry in public basic education schools through a bibliographical review. A search was carried out for works on environmental education in chemistry teaching, of the article type, in the period between 2000 and 2022 and a search for documents of the Brazilian legislation on Environmental Education. After reading 50 abstracts, 13 articles were chosen for carrying out the work. The studies pointed to the importance of including environmental education in schools, especially in the teaching of chemistry, highlighting the school as a fundamental space for the formation of the individual responsible for the preservation of the environment. |

En primer lugar, se realizó una búsqueda de artículos académicos sobre el tema "educación ambiental en la enseñanza de la química", con el período de análisis definido de 2000 a 2022. Posteriormente, se realizó una búsqueda de documentos de la legislación brasileña relacionados con la educación ambiental. Luego de la lectura de los resúmenes, se eligieron 11 artículos para el análisis textual. Se observó la importancia de incluir la educación ambiental en la enseñanza de la química como instrumento para trabajar la preservación ambiental y reducir las consecuencias de las acciones humanas sobre el medio ambiente a través de prácticas contextualizadas en el aula, destacando la institución escolar como un espacio propicio para la formación integral del individuo desde las perspectivas de la educación ambiental.Os problemas ambientais da atualidade estão prejudicando a natureza e a qualidade de vida do homem, colocando em risco o futuro da humanidade. Essa realidade mostra a importância de políticas públicas para garantir que a educação ambiental esteja presente nas escolas. Portanto, esse trabalho tem como objetivo descrever as práticas de educação ambiental no ensino de química de escolas de educação básica, por meio de revisão bibliográfica.
