Resumo: Constructivism differs from traditional teaching and has numerous tools, which are presented for the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process significantly, among them we can mention the use of previous organizers, creating posters and text production. The point of the project is to  talk about the water, it's environment and social aspects, within a perspective of the significant learning of Ausubel (1976). The research is qualitative and was held at the Municipal School Dr. Orlando Nigro, in Cuiabá, MT, with a total sample of seventy-nine students of the sixth grade of elementary school. The school serves students of Pedregal neighborhood, Renascer, Leblon and surroundings. These neighborhoods are in the Barbado Watershed. The watershed is directly linked to 21 districts, and is degraded due to intense urban occupation of its banks, as well, the theme of choice is related to the environmental and social context in which the school is located. Methodological aspects consisted on applying an initial questionnaire, questioning and prior organizer that resulted in texts production and poster creation. The results of the initial questionnaire showed little critical reflection in aspects related to waste and conservation of water resources. After the methodological application was realized the production and further development of concepts where students demonstrated consistent arguments far beyond what was available in the previous organizer.

The results of the initial questionnaire showed little critical reflection in aspects related to waste and conservation of water resources. After the methodological application was realized the production and further development of concepts where students demonstrated consistent arguments far beyond what was available in the previous organizer.O construtivismo se diferencia do ensino tradicional e conta com várias ferramentas que são apresentadas para a efetivação do processo de ensino-aprendizagem de forma significativa, entre eles podemos citar a utilização de organizadores prévios, construção de cartazes e elaboração de textos.
