Resumo: This paper proposes to examine the teacher’s practice through the theory of street-level bureaucrats. Therefore, the present study is an effort to dialogue presuppositions of the educational area with the area of public politics aiming to contribute with the agenda of research, which is about the teacher’s practice. Methodologically, it is a descriptive research guided by literature review that places in the same epistemological level the teacher’s practice and the street-level bureaucracy. This research resulted in an original proposal of approach to analyze the phenomenon of education regarding the teacher’s practice connecting it to its bias of public politic; to do so it focused in its employees that work directly in the context in its operational level.

Logo, o presente estudo é um esforço para dialogar pressupostos da área de educação com a área de políticas públicas visando contribuir com a agenda de pesquisa que trata da prática docente. Metodologicamente, se perfaz em uma pesquisa descritiva norteada pela revisão da literatura que coloca em um mesmo plano epistemológico a prática docente e a burocracia de nível de rua.
