A PROPOSAL OF TEACHING SCHOOL ABSTRACTS AS A GENRE IN A CONTEXT OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL

Resumo: | This study aimed to teach the rhetorical movement of school abstracts as a genre to students from professional education high school in Alagoas Federal Institute. Theoretical framework is represented by the contributions of rhetorical studies of genre (BAZERMAN, 2009) and abstract genre (LEITE 2006; MACHADO, LOUSADA & ABREU-TARDELI 2004). This investigation has a qualitative approach and data analyses tools are formed by two school abstracts written is two different moments: (1) before teaching the rhetorical movement of genre and (2) after teaching the rhetorical movement. Results show that in the first stage, many students could understand that summarize was a process of copying the parts of the text they considered important. In the second stage, we could observe a significant improvement in relation to the writing production of the genre. The conclusion points to the need of inclusion of writing activities of the genres that circulate in their formation area in professional education high school. |

O referencial teórico está representado pelas contribuições dos estudos retóricos de gênero (BAZERMAN, 2009) e do gênero textual resumo (LEITE 2006; MACHADO, LOUSADA & ABREU-TARDELI, 2004). Esta investigação é de natureza qualitativa e os instrumentos para análise dos dados estão compostos por dois resumos escritos em dois momentos diferentes: (1) antes do ensino do movimento retórico de gênero e (2) após o ensino do movimento retórico. Os resultados demonstram que, na primeira etapa, muitos estudantes entendiam que resumir era copiar de modo fiel os trechos considerados importantes. Na segunda etapa, percebemos que houve melhoras significativas na escrita do gênero resumo.
