TEACHING PHYSICS USING VIRTUAL SIMULATORS: POTENTIAL FOR USE IN THE CLASSROOM

Resumo: Virtual simulators are software aimed at emulating a reality in which it is possible, above all, for user learning.In this context, virtual simulators, if used as teaching resources to stimulate students' interest and reinforcethe learning of concepts of natural sciences, and in particular Physics, becomes an interesting strategy. Manysimulators have been developed in recent years, making them popular tools, mainly because some of them workonline and are free. Despite this, we still cannot say that the use of this resource is a reality in Brazil. Severalproblems make it difficult or even prevent its use. In this work, we observed the behavior of a group of naturalscience teachers regarding the use of virtual simulators. The data show that there is still a lot to be done in order to popularize this resource among teachers and, therefore, in the educational culture of Physics teaching.

En este contexto, los simuladores virtuales, si se utilizan como recursos para estimular el interés de los estudiantes y reforzar el aprendizaje de conceptos de las ciencias naturales, y en Física en particular, se convierte en una estrategia interesante. Muchos simuladores se han desarrollado en los últimos años, haciendo herramientas populares, principalmente porque algunas de ellas funcionan en línea y son gratuitos. A pesar de esto, todavía no podemos decir que el uso de este recurso es una realidad en Brasil. Varios los problemas dificultan o incluso impiden su uso. En esto trabajo, observamos el comportamiento de un grupo de profesores de ciencias en el uso de simuladores virtuales. Los datos muestran que aún queda mucho por hacer para popularizar este recurso entre los docentes y, por tanto, en la cultura educativa de la enseñanza de la Física.Os simuladores virtuais são softwares com objetivos de emular uma realidade na qual seja possível, sobretudo, aaprendizagem do usuário. Neste contexto, os simuladores virtuais quando utilizados como recursosdidáticos visando estimular o interesse dos alunos e reforçar a aprendizagem de conceitos das ciências danatureza, e em particular da Física, torna-se uma estratégia interessante. Muitos simuladores têm sidodesenvolvidos nos últimos anos, tornando-os ferramentas conhecidas, principalmente porque algunsdeles funcionam on-line e são gratuitos. Apesar disso, ainda não podemos dizer que a utilização desse recurso éuma realidade no Brasil. Diversos problemas dificultam ou até impedem sua utilização. Neste trabalhoobservamos o comportamento de um grupo de professores de ciências da natureza acerca da utilizaçãodos simuladores virtuais.
