Preparing the Citizen of the Twenty-first century: Reflections on the Curricular Component of Informatics in Teutônia Town

Resumo: Abstract: The present article aims at discussing the question of the curricular component of Computer Science at the schools of the Municipal Education System in Teutônia. Cultural aspects related to the technological issue are presented in this article, as well  as their implications for the daily life in society, contextualization of possible and usual uses of information and communication technologies (ICTs), and contextualization of the curricular component of information technology in the curriculum of the Municipal Education System in Teutônia. This is a bibliographic research that searches in the existing literature, together with legal texts, to articulate the possibilities and limitations of what is expected and what is possible in the area of information technology, including addressing the conditions of logistics and equipment available in the town. There is also the articulation of the concepts of cyberspace and cyberculture as issues inherent to the present time. It was conducted qualitative research as it relates to subjective issues, such as the production of culture and education, concepts that are subject to human action and, therefore, do not follow pre-established standards. The research findings show that the evolution of the curricular component of information technology in Teutônia town goes through accommodations and discomforts inherent to human action as well as the evolution of society. Culture.Resumo: Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir a questão do componente curricular de informática nas Escolas da Rede Municipal de Ensino de Teutônia. Ao longo do artigo, são apresentados aspectos culturais relativos à questão tecnológica, bem como suas implicações no cotidiano da sociedade, contextualização das utilizações possíveis e usuais das tecnologias da informação e comunicação (TICs), e contextualização do componente curricular de informática no currículo da Rede Municipal de Ensino de Teutônia. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica que busca na literatura existente, juntamente com textos legais, articular as possibilidades e limitações do que se espera e do que é possível na área da informática, abordando, inclusive, condições de logística e de equipamentos disponíveis no município. Também há a articulação dos conceitos de ciberespaço e cibercultura como questões inerentes à atualidade. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa por se relacionar com questões subjetivas, como produção de cultura e educação, conceitos estes que estão sujeitos à ação humana e, portanto, não seguem padrões pré-estabelecidos. Após a conclusão do artigo, foi apurado que, assim como a evolução da sociedade, a do componente curricular de informática, no município de Teutônia, passa por acomodações e desacomodações inerentes à ação humana.
