Biotechnology in the Training of Biology Teacher: A Systematic Review of the Literatures

Resumo: Abstract: In the area of Biotechnology, several discoveries have guided advances for society using scientific and technological knowledge. Its goods and services are part of the everyday life of the entire population in general. Nevertheless, the introduction of biotechnological themes in educational spaces goes through the formation of teachers. In this perspective, the objective of the present paper was to investigate the scenario of national and international research regarding the insertion of Biotechnology in the formation of Biology teachers. To this end, mixed research was developed, using the assumptions of bibliographic research of the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) type, of secondary nature, with well-defined search protocols and guiding questions. Data were obtained from Google Academic, CAPES Periodicals, SciELO, Arca, ERIC, ACM, Scopus, and ScienceDirect databases published in the last ten years (2012-2022). The quantitative analysis showed that there is a lack of studies that contemplate the theme, however, there is a growing trend in the number of research in the last decade. The qualitative analysis revealed that the research is incipient regarding the approach of biotechnological topics directed to teacher education. Therefore, the results point to the need for investment in research that promotes a more centralized debate between Teaching of Biotechnology in Basic Education. Keywords: Biotechnology. Seus bens e serviços fazem parte do cotidiano de toda a população em geral. Não obstante, a introdução de temáticas biotecnológicas nos espaços educacionais perpassa a formação docente. Nessa perspectiva, o presente artigo teve como objetivo investigar o cenário das pesquisas nacionais e internacionais em relação à inserção da Biotecnologia na formação de professores de Biologia. Para tanto, desenvolveu-se uma pesquisa de natureza mista, utilizando os pressupostos da pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo Revisão Sistemática de Literatura (RSL), de cunho secundário, com protocolos de busca bem definidos e questões norteadoras. Os dados foram obtidos por meio das bases de dados Google Acadêmico, Periódicos CAPES, SciELO, Arca, ERIC, ACM, Scopus e ScienceDirect publicados nos últimos dez anos (2012-2022). A análise quantitativa demonstrou que há uma carência de estudos que contemplem a temática, entretanto, há uma tendência de crescimento no número de pesquisas na última década. A análise qualitativa revelou que os estudos são incipientes quanto à abordagem de tópicos biotecnológicos direcionados à formação docente. Portanto, os resultados apontam para a necessidade de investimentos em pesquisas que promovam um debate mais centralizado entre a formação docente e o Ensino de Biotecnologia na Educação Básica.
