Perspectives and Challenges of Interdisciplinary Practices: an Experience Report in the Context of Graduate Students

Abstract: Our experiences in the Multicampus Program of the Professional Master's Degree in Science and Mathematics Education at Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), in the “Interdisciplinary Studies in Science and Mathematics Teaching” course, held in the context of remote education, allowed for a discussion on interdisciplinarity in the training of Science teachers. While diving into what was experienced in class, we focused on creating interdisciplinary activities and explored projects called “Interdisciplinarity worked ludically in the school environment: teaching in a more fun way” and “Radioactivity in context: an interdisciplinary action towards scientific literacy”, emphasizing experiences and contributions made possible by thinking and writing these projects. Finally, we point out the challenges of interdisciplinarity, such as educators working conditions and the potentialities of its implementation, while also highlighting its importance in teacher training in order to promote an interdisciplinary educational practice and interrelate knowledge, participants, and contribute to the attractiveness of the educational process.
