Impact of the bibliographic production of the Federal Institutes of Rio de Janeiro: Survey of the leaders of research groups in the Scopus database

Resumo: | In the last decade, the Federal Institutes of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) presented a great expansion in their research groups, simultaneously with the growth of researchers and articles in research bases. It is worth investigating whether this expansion was accompanied by a greater academic impact. Consultations were made in the Scopus database, for the acquisition of specific indicators by authors (Leaders of research groups), being the number of articles, documents that cited them and h-index, in order to reach the objectives of this research. Analyzing the indicators, it is notable that the relationship between impact and the number of research groups is slight, otherwise, not necessarily greater number means greater academic impact. |

Además, es útil investigar si esta expansión estuvo acompañada de un mayor impacto académico. Se realizaron consultas en la base Scopus, para la adquisición de indicadores por parte del autor (líderes de grupos de investigación). Es posible distinguir el desempeño de las instituciones , como notar que el vínculo entre el impacto y el número de grupos de investigación es pequeño, es decir, no necesariamente un número mayor significa mayor relevancia académica.Na última década os Institutos Federais no Estado do Rio de Janeiro (RJ) apresentaram uma grande expansão em seus grupos de pesquisa, simultaneamente ao crescimento de pesquisadores e artigos em bases de pesquisa. Cabe averiguar se essa expansão foi acompanhada de um maior impacto acadêmico. Foram feitas consultas na base Scopus, para aquisição de indicadores específicos por autor (Líderes de grupos de pesquisa), sendo eles número de artigos e índice-h, visando alcançar os objetivos desta pesquisa.
