Resumo: This paper intent search and discuss methodologic differences between bibliographic research and definitions. Starting from the qualitative approach, three repositories of scientific productions were consulted, we found 14 types of research associated with the theme, where some compatibilities and incompatibilities were detected in the literature, added to certain descriptive imprecision of the procedures and functions attributed to each method. With this picture, there is a need to expand studies that inquire the specificity of each method, in order to contribute to academic work at different levels and areas of knowledge.

Partiendo del enfoque cualitativo, se realizó una consulta a tres repositorios de producción científica, siendo encontrados 14 tipos de investigaciones asociadas a la revisión bibliográfica, donde percibimos algunas compatibilidades e incompatibilidades, sumadas a determinadas imprecisiones descriptiva de los procedimientos y de las funciones atribuidas a cada método. Con ese cuadro, se nota la necesidad de ampliar los estudios que investigan la especificidad de cada método, con el fin de contribuir con el trabajo académico en diferentes niveles y áreas de conocimiento.O presente artigo tem por objetivo investigar e discutir as diferenças metodológicas dos tipos de pesquisas de cunho bibliográfico e suas definições. Partindo da abordagem qualitativa, foi realizada a consulta a três repositórios de produções científicas, sendo encontrados 14 tipos de pesquisas associadas à revisão bibliográfica, onde percebemos algumas compatibilidades e incompatibilidades, somados à certa imprecisão descritiva dos procedimentos e das funções atribuídas a cada método.
