Fashion and tragedy: the impacts of Rana Plaza's collapse on fast fashion and slow fashion models

Resumo: Faced with the tragedy of Rana Plaza, on April 24, 2013, this article seeks to highlight the impacts caused by what happened in fast fashion and slow fashion business models. For that, an ex-post-facto research is used with a view to drawing the consequences of the event. Based on the consulted literature, the following categories of evidence were established: (I) work; (II) consumption; (III) company; and (IV) industry. The results attest that, post-Rana Plaza: (I) the fast fashion model advanced in security agreements, however, its consumers present controversies; and (II) the slow fashion model encouraged the emergence of third sector initiatives and provided support for pro-sustainability behaviors.

Para tanto, emprega-se uma pesquisa ex-post-facto com vistas a desenhar as consequências do acontecimento. A partir da literatura consultada, estabeleceram-se como categorias de evidência: (I) trabalho; (II) consumo; (III) sociedade; e (IV) indústria.
