Resumo: CIt was defined as the subject of the research the elimination of Leprosy as a public health problem in the city of Joinville/SC, with the purpose to trace the profile of the elimination of the notified cases in the period comprehended between 2001 and 2015. It’s a descriptive epidemiologic research with a quantitative approach, which data were obtained through the SINAN (Information System of Notification Appeal) - SINAN/Joinville and SINAN/Health Ministry. A historical series was elaborated and the variables used as new cases numbers, annual detection number in adults and under 15, number of new cases with level 2 of physical incapacity, releases by cure and the number of patients in treatment. The results show that the country hadelevated values in the annual indicator of detection while the rest presented average values. The analyses of new cases with level 2 of physical incapacitydoes not have a parameter, but it maintained stable in the four spheres evaluated. The country showed elevated detection values in under 15 while the city presented a variable curve and the rest kept constant. The four levels showed regular cure proportion, however for the indicator of prevalence Brazil presented average values of endemicity and the others showed low endemic values. This analysis allowed to evaluate and compare the differentiated behavior of Brazil, South Region, Santa Catarina and Joinville, what led to see a possible hidden prevalence.
