Sensoriamento espectral cooperativo com fus?o de autovalores para sinais OFDMA e outros sinais de banda larga

Resumo: A possible solution for the spectral scarcity problem is the opportunistic frequency spectrum utilization. The art of verifying the spectrum in pursuit of available positions for transmission occupies a prominent space for cognitive radio development. Aiming at increasing the efficiency of the spectrum sensing process by diminishing the delay time, wideband spectrum sensing techniques are being studied and enhanced. This dissertation presents a new spectrum sensing technique based on the eigenvalues of the covariance matrix of the received signal by cognitive radios. It is also proposed a new method of data fusion through the combination of the eigenvalues of the covariance matrix computed by each cooperating cognitive radio. The test statistics for the eigenvalue-based spectrum sensing of narrowband signals are empirically modified. Simulation results have shown that the proposed combination method outperforms other combination methods such as sample fusion and decision fusion for any test statistic. An adaptation of the spectrum sensing technique to detect the occupancy state of subchannels in OFDMA signals is also proposed. Ultimately, an analysis of the data volume over the control channel shows a reduction of the amount of information transmitted to the fusion center with the proposed technique relative to the sample fusion.

A habilidade de verificar o espectro em busca de posi??es dispon?veis para transmiss?o ocupa espa?o de destaque no desenvolvimento de sistemas de r?dios cognitivos. Com o intuito de aumentar a efici?ncia do processo de sensoriamento espectral diminuindo os atrasos, t?cnicas de sensoriamento em banda larga v?m sendo estudadas e aperfei?oadas. Este trabalho apresenta uma nova t?cnica de sensoriamento espectral baseada nos autovalores da matriz de covari?ncia do sinal recebido pelos r?dios cognitivos. Tamb?m ? proposta uma nova t?cnica de combina??o de dados atrav?s da combina??o dos autovalores da matriz de covari?ncia calculados por cada r?dio cognitivo em coopera??o. Os testes estat?sticos para o sensoriamento espectral baseado em autovalores para sinais em faixa estreita s?o modificados empiricamente. Resultados de simula??o mostraram que o m?todo de combina??o proposto supera outros m?todos de combina??o como a fus?o de amostras e a fus?o de decis?o para qualquer um dos testes estat?sticos. Tamb?m ? apresentada uma adapta??o da t?cnica de sensoriamento para detectar o estado de ocupa??o de subcanais em sinais OFDMA.
