Resumo: A study accomplished in the Instituto Mineiro de Oncologia during the period of 1986-1992 involved 158 patients with esophageal câncer. Radiotherapy (4.400 cGy) was employed in 47 (29.7%) ofthesepatients, one month before esophagectomy. The histological examination showed remmant câncer occurred in 34 (72.3%) ofthese cases.
