Resumo: Twenty-five patients were considered suitable for assessment among 51 included in the study which used chemotherapy with cis-platinum, mitomycina-C and bleomicine in the outpatient department. The patients had not undergone any previous treatrnent. The results obtained were as follows: 4% of complete response, 64% of partial response, 20% of estable disease and 12% of no response. Survival in cases which presented an objetive response (CR +PR) was of 8.2 months, which is the sarne found in the group which did not show a satisfactory response (DS+AR). Survival in a group of historical control whích had undergone only radiotherapy and/or surgery was of 8.8 months. The difference was not significative.

The difference was not significative.Os autores analisam os 25 casos considerados avaliáveis, dos 51 incluídos no estudo, nos quais se utilizou quimioterapia com cisplatinum, mitomicina-C e bleomicina, em esquema ambulatorial, em pacientes virgens de tratamento. Obteve-se 4% de resposta completa (RC), 64% de resposta parcial (RP), 20% de estabilização da doença (ED) e 12% de sem resposta (SR). A sobrevida média dos casos que obtiveram resposta objetiva (RC+RP) foi de 8,2 meses, que foi igual à encontrada no grupo que ná0 respondeu satisfatoriamente (ED+SR). A sobrevida de um grupo-controle histórico submetido apenas à radioterapia e/ou cirurgia foi de 8,8 meses.
