THE ROLE OF NURSING IN THE PATIENT WITH RENAL FAILURE UNDERGOING HEMODIALYSIS TREATMENT: A brief integrative review of the literature

Resumo: This is a course completion work whose objective is to understand the role of the nursing professional in relation to patients with renal failure, undergoing hemodialysis treatment. Renal failure occurs when the kidneys are unable to remove toxins and waste from the body, in most cases leading to the need for hemodialysis treatment. To achieve the general objective, it was necessary to outline the following specific objectives: understand the importance of these specific interventions; discuss the direct impact that nurses have on patient outcomes, with a fundamental aim to guarantee the quality of care, from promotion, prevention and treatment. This is a study with a qualitative approach, whose procedure is an integrative literature review. It is concluded that the reflections brought forward in this work contribute to the advancement of comprehensive and holistic nursing care for people undergoing hemodialysis treatment, based on interventions and the use of tools that promote safe care.

La insuficiencia renal ocurre cuando los riñones no pueden eliminar las toxinas y los desechos del cuerpo, lo que en la mayoría de los casos lleva a la necesidad de un tratamiento de hemodiálisis. Para lograr el objetivo general, fue necesario esbozar los siguientes objetivos específicos: comprender la importancia de estas intervenciones específicas; Discutir el impacto directo que las enfermeras tienen en los resultados de los pacientes, con el objetivo fundamental de garantizar la calidad de la atención, desde la promoción, la prevención y el tratamiento. Se trata de un estudio con enfoque cualitativo, cuyo procedimiento es una revisión integradora de la literatura. Se concluye que las reflexiones planteadas en este trabajo contribuyen para el avance de los cuidados de enfermería integrales y holísticos de las personas en tratamiento de hemodiálisis, a partir de las intervenciones y el uso de herramientas que promuevan cuidados seguros.Trata-se de trabalho de conclusão de curso cujo objetivo é compreender o papel do profissional de enfermagem frente ao paciente com insuficiência renal, realizando tratamento de hemodiálise. A insuficiência renal ocorre quando os rins são incapazes de remover as toxinas e resíduos dos organismos, levando na maioria dos casos a necessidade do tratamento de hemodiálise. Para alcançar-se o objetivo geral, foi necessário traçar os seguintes objetivos específicos: compreender a importância dessas intervenções específicas; discorrer sobre o impacto direto que os enfermeiros têm nos resultados dos pacientes, visando fundamental para garantir a qualidade do atendimento, desde a promoção, prevenção e tratamento. Trata-se de um estudo com abordagem qualitativa, cujo procedimento trata-se de revisão de literatura integrativa.
