Resumo: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are considered a public and collective health problem and are associated with other diseases. In view of this reflection, the objectives of this study were to carry out an explanatory literature review on dyslipidemia and prevention of atherosclerosis, describing about Lipoproteins and presenting on self-medication and the role of the pharmacist in guiding a patient affected by cholesterol Through the literature, achieving specific goals. Theses and dissertations, the Guidelines of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology and guidelines from the Ministry of Health were used. simple can lead to an improvement in the quality of life of those who are subject to coronary heart disease. The scientific literature demonstrates that there is an association between cholesterol and coronary heart disease, therefore, this study aims to relate the presence of excess cholesterol, knowledge about risk factors for the formation of atherosclerosis/dyslipidemia and changing habits for health prevalence.

Se utilizaron artículos, tesis, disertaciones, los Lineamientos de la Sociedad Brasileña de Cardiología y los lineamientos del Ministerio de Salud, que de manera sencilla puede conducir a una mejora en la calidad de vida de quienes padecen enfermedad coronaria. La literatura científica demuestra que existe una asociación entre el colesterol y la enfermedad coronaria, por lo que este estudio tiene como objetivo relacionar la presencia de exceso de colesterol, el conocimiento sobre los factores de riesgo para la formación de aterosclerosis / dislipidemia y el cambio de hábitos para la prevalencia de salud.As Doenças CardioVasculares (DCV) são consideradas um problema de saúde pública e coletiva e estão associadas à outras doenças, diante dessa reflexão os objetivos desse estudo foram realizar uma revisão de literatura explanatória sobre a dislipidemia e prevenção da aterosclerose, descrevendo sobre os lipídeos no geral e apresentar sobre automedicação e o papel do farmacêutico na orientação a um paciente acometido pelo colesterol Através da literatura, alcançar os objetivos específicos. Foram utilizados artigos, teses, dissertações, as Diretrizes da Sociedade Brasileira de Cardiologia e orientações o Ministério da Saúde. Foi possível verificar que com mudança nos hábitos alimentares e atividades física moderadas é possível diminuir o nível do colesterol, e ainda que a disseminação do conhecimento de modo simples pode levar uma melhoria na qualidade de vida daqueles que estão sujeitos a doenças coronarianas.
