Resumo: | Pregnancy is the period responsible for manifesting intense changes in the woman's body. In this sense, it is necessary to draw attention to the impacts caused both in anatomy and in its physiology. Health problems resulting from pregnancy or pre-existing ones are warning signs so that any possibility of harm to the health of the mother and/or the fetus is minimized. It is common for them to present some diseases such as Anemia, Hypertensive Diseases of pregnancy, Gestational Diabetes, Urinary Tract Infection, Syphilis and Hepatitis B. Systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) complicates pregnancy more often, affecting 5% to 10% of pregnancies, being identified as one of the main causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. This work aims to highlight that care for high-risk pregnant women must be performed by an interdisciplinary team, seeking to reduce the risks of an unfavorable outcome for the mother and/or baby/fetus. In this context, Hypertensive Syndromes of Pregnancy (HPS), as well as hemorrhagic syndromes and puerperal infections, are cited as the main causes of maternal morbidity and mortality in several countries, providing an important notoriety in the global public health scenario. In addition to these, obesity, and other forms of hyperalimentation have compromised the good progress of pregnancies and caused a significant percentage of deaths. Another factor considered as a determining factor for the development of complications in pregnancy is maternal age and pregnancies over 35 years of age. |

Another factor considered as a determining factor for the development of complications in pregnancy is maternal age and pregnancies over 35 years of age.
