This work aimed to understand Winnicott's concept of antisocial tendency and bring it closer to the phenomenon of crime. The research methodology adopted was a descriptive study with a qualitative method, using a non-systematic bibliographic review. In our country, the increasingly significant number of crimes committed causes general concern among the population and this increase in crime is increasingly reflected in spending on public security, the judicial system, and the prison system. From the research carried out, it was possible to observe two paths of emotional development described by Winnicott that lead to antisocial tendencies: when the baby's instinctual aggressiveness is not integrated into the personality and when the baby feels deprived of something good that already existed in his environment. In both cases, it is essential to promote a safe and trusting environment to minimize negative effects on children's emotional development.
