Resumo: The present article talks about the vocation of Dom Helder Camara, an important brazilian bishop, remembered for his option for the poor. The itinerary runs through the vocational awakening, years in the seminary, maturance and vocational awareness according to the herderian spirituality. Under the inspiration of the work The desert is fertile, develops his main thesis deepening the concept of abrahamic minorities, where it is possible to glimpse intuitions for the vocations of the present time. Dom Helder shows a way to the total life donation through the overcoming of selfishness, the facing of the crosses and the identification of the great causes of which are worth dedicating life.

Sob a inspiração da obra O deserto é fértil, desenvolve sua tese central ao aprofundar o conceito de minorias abraãmicas, de onde é possível entrever intuições para os vocacionados do tempo presente.
