Resumo: Objective: To identify the surgical procedures of patients in the postoperative period of bariatric surgery, to relate depression, quality of life and nursing care during the rehabilitation process. Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature composed of scientific articles on the thame “Depression related to the immediate postoperative period of bariatric surgery and nursing care”. For this purpose, we searched for papers at the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), the Literatura latino-americana e do caribe em ciências da saúde (LILACS), and the Base de dados de enfermagem (BDEnf). Final Considerations: During the research, it was possible to observe the importance of support from professionals, family members and friends at all stages of the process. Before performing the procedure, it is necessary for patients to undergo all the analysis so that they become able to perform the surgery, minimizing the risks. Usually, it is performed surgery on those patients who have already tried other means and have not been able to achieve the objective. Concerns about the image and the results are crucial for the development of psychological diseases, such as depression and others, and the work of the nursing team in the postoperative care of patients is indispensable, contributing to the success of the results and ensuring the reach of your goals.
