EXPERIENCE OF PRE-PARTY AS A DOCTOR AND NURSING ACADEMIC: AN EXPERIENCE REPORT

Objective: Report an experience experienced with the parturient in her pre-partum/prenatal care. Describe the relevance of Doula during this first phase of the gravidic cycle and identify the factors contributing to pain reduction during labor. Method: This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach of the type of experience report from experience as a nursing academic, performing the work of Doula with a pregnant woman of 34 years, in her first pregnancy. Results: To substantiate the study, 10 articles were selected, complete and available in the Virtual Health Library, published between 2012 and 2018, in Portuguese. The descriptors "Doulas, obstetric nursing and humanized childbirth" were used for the search in the Health sciences descriptors (DECS), version 2018. Conclusion: During the experience, it was possible to observe very expressive and satisfactory reactions to the preparation for childbirth. Pain relief techniques were oriented and applied through the materials provided by the pregnant woman and Doula, highlighting the obstetric ball, the sling. Other techniques were also offered, without the pharmacological necessity, but also the comfort massage, breathing techniques and continuous support, bringing safety and comfort to the parturient. These techniques are widely supported in the literature consulted on humanized childbirth and the work of Doula.
