Resumo: Objective: The objective was to evaluate the oral condition in post-leprosy women discharged from leprosy in the city of Rio Largo - AL, who were diagnosed from 2007 to 2017 Methodology: This is a cross-sectional study carried out in a group of women who had post-discharge from leprosy treatment in the period from 2007 to 2017. Initially, in January 2019, a survey was carried out in the Epidemiology and Surveillance sector of the Municipal Department to identify and nominal list of post-discharge leprosy women. Data collection took place in the second half of 2019 in basic units of the municipality, including extra and intraoral examinations in order to observe changes in the face, nasal spine, maxilla, mandible, in addition to evaluation of the dentition, use of prosthesis, mucosa, tongue. Results: 14 women participated in the research, there were reports of lack of guidance to seek dental services. Among the intraoral lesions identified, some highlights were the percentage of hyperplasia - with or without denture trauma, fissured tongue, pigmentation, geographic tongue, soapy tongue. 50% of the women used removable total or partial dentures, and 50% did not use them. Regarding the evaluation of decayed, missing and filled teeth (DMF-D) a high index was found among them, evidence of gingival inflammation and bleeding when brushing was also found. CONCLUSION: Women affected by leprosy had poor oral health conditions, and it is essential to establish means of treatment to reduce the outbreaks of infections predisposing to leprosy reactions as well as to contribute to the diagnosis of the disease. The results also pointed to the need for awareness and articulation for a comprehensive look at these people, in addition to strengthening interdisciplinary work, especially in primary care.
