Resumo: Objective: To describe the importance of using mobile applications as a tool to assist in mental health care in the academic environment. Method: This is an integrative literature review. Searches were carried out in electronic databases: PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. After the scientific articles were eligible, the databases were identified: removal of duplicates; reading titles; reading of the abstracts and excluding those who did not meet the inclusion criteria after reading them in full. Then, the selected articles were read in full and the main points of analysis of the article were extracted, including the title, objective, main results and conclusion. Results: The development of mobile healthcare apps has increased exponentially, and the use of apps has been reported to improve the efficiency of healthcare delivery and the effectiveness of treatment. It is worth highlighting that these applications have the potential to expand access to health information, facilitate remote care and empower users. The mHealth sector is one of the fastest growing application categories in recent years. However, there has been a lack of focus and dedication when it comes to evaluating the credibility and scientific accuracy of these applications. This is particularly evident in the realm of mental health apps. Final considerations: Thus, although there are numerous mobile apps for iOS and Android in Brazil that address mental disorders, there is a dearth of scientifically validated options in the Portuguese language designed specifically for well-being. mentality of university students.
