Resumo: | Breast cancer is a serious global public health problem. TMX is a drug used as one of the therapeutic lines against this neoplasm, but it can cause toxic effects due to its antiestrogenic action. The formation of toxic TMX metabolites can significantly affect treatment adherence and clinical therapeutic management of patients. The general objective of this research article is to carry out an integrative literature review of the toxicological aspects of the use of tamoxifen in patients with breast cancer. 15 articles were found in the online databases, which met the research inclusion and exclusion criteria. It is concluded that TMX is a drug used as one of the therapeutic lines against this neoplasm, but the formation of toxic metabolites of TMX can significantly affect adherence to treatment and clinical therapeutic management of patients. Therefore, the presence of the pharmacist, especially the pharmacist in oncology, is of great importance to resolve problems related to pharmacotherapy, aiming to successfully achieve the desired therapeutic objectives, preventing the appearance of toxic effects that compromise pharmacological therapy and health. of the patient. |

O TMX é um fármaco utilizado como uma das linhas terapêuticas contra esta neoplasia, mas pode causar efeitos tóxicos devido à sua ação antiestrogênica. A formação de metabólitos tóxicos do TMX pode afetar significativamente a adesão ao tratamento e o manejo clínico terapêutico dos pacientes. O presente artigo de pesquisa tem como objetivo geral realizar a revisão integrativa da literatura dos aspectos toxicológicos do uso do tamoxifeno em pacientes com câncer de mama. Foram encontrados 15 artigos na bases de dados on line, que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão da pesquisa. Conclui-se que, o TMX é um fármaco utilizado como uma das linhas terapêuticas contra esta neoplasia, mas a formação de metabólitos tóxicos do TMX pode afetar significativamente a adesão ao tratamento e o manejo clínico terapêutico dos pacientes.
