Burns are a contemporary reality that affects patients of all ages. Nurses play a crucial role in the care of these patients, not only treating the injuries but also establishing empathetic and professional relationships with them and their families. Goal:This study aimed to conduct an integrative literature review on the role of nurses in the treatment of burns. Databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, and Scopus were consulted, along with grey literature such as government reports and dissertations. The research strategy followed the PICOS model (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Study Design), using Boolean operators to combine relevant terms. Relevant data were extracted, synthesized, and analyzed to identify common themes. Several studies were included in the review. Results: It is evident that nursing care for patients with second-degree burns is complex and encompasses physical, emotional, and educational aspects. Additionally, nurses play an important role in providing education to prevent future injuries. Conclusion: The research emphasizes the need for evidence-based practices and multidisciplinary approaches to improve patient outcomes. The study highlights the importance of nurses' role in the care of patients with burns and how their involvement is essential for effective and comprehensive treatment.
